Well, I hate to be the one to break the bad news but it looks as though Winter has arrived - and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I've made my peace with the early arrival of snow and below-frezing temperatures in Toronto and am now trying to strategize on how to make it through another Winter - without living in a parka 24/7. I've found that heavy knits are my friend; for example, this heavy knitted sweater holds up incredibly well in the frigid temperatures - so much so that it actually becomes too warm to wear indoors for an extended period of time! Add a thick black tight, a pair of black Hunter Wellingtons and a mustard toque (that's Canadian for beanie) and I'm ready for the early onset of Winter. Read on for additional photos and outfit details.

I know, I know - colder temperatures should mean that it's time to put the skirts in storage but this Noob just can't seem to part with them! I remedy my love for short skater skirts in the winter by having a stock of thick black tights to wear underneath them - bonus if they're fleece lined keeping your stems nice and cozy.
Fleece-lined tights are da bomb! I have a hard time giving up skirts in winter too. Fab outfit Joelle!ReplyDelete

Thanks Kris, I'm glad we both agree about the fleece lined tights! #lifesaverDelete
Ahh thick black Tights and Wellingtons perfect winter outfit, reminds me of going to school with my friends on a wet day we all wore black Tights and Wellingtons with our school uniforms and had great fun splashing in puddles.ReplyDelete
Sounds like a ridiculously cute school uniform! I was always envious of kids who were able to wear uniforms to school - strange I know!Delete
Love this! I'm also a fan of wearing my short skirts in winter with fleece-lined tights. They're the best when it's absolutely frigid outside!ReplyDelete
I totally agree, Kimi. Plus, I find them way warmer than jeggings or skinny jeans!Delete
Super cute! Love that beanie. It adds the perfect pop of colour!ReplyDelete

Thank you! The colour is what initially drew me to the beanie - its a great accessory for gloomy winter weatherDelete
