Once November hits, it seems like the holiday season takes over our thoughts and while I'm not one to get very excited about decorations and baking, I do love a good holiday party. There's something about holiday party-wear that makes getting dressed more fun; maybe it's the different colours and textures available, and it's a time that you can really get out of your comfort zone.
While most people would opt for lots of sparkle and different fabrics, my pink-obsessed self is drawn to black dresses to get out of my comfort zone for the holiday season. Take this adorable, galaxy-printed ruffle dress from Reitmans. To say I'm obsessed would be an understatement. I just love the fact that this little number is a genuine wrap dress, so it's incredibly flattering. The ruffle details around the edges add the prettiest, most feminine details and I love how the fabric is a mesh overlay. The tiny galaxy print also adds the cutest detail. I really just love this dress!
I've done some browsing, and I'm so impressed with the Signature Collections by Reitmans - the dresses offer an elevated take on holiday party-wear and I love the range in sizes available through Reitmans. While I can totally see myself galavanting from one holiday party to the next in this dress, something tells me that I'll be wearing it well before the holiday seasons gets into full swing. It's too good.

I also want to chat a little bit about this sparkly pewter choker from the Signature by Reitmans line. I'm not one for statement jewellery, so a nice and simple choker is a great way to accessorize an outfit without going over-the-top. I love how it's the perfect compliment to the ruffled neckline of this dress, and I'm looking forward to styling it outside of the holiday season too.
What do you guys think? Are you as into holiday party-wear as I am? What do you do to get out of your comfort zone for holiday dresses? Let me know!
