One of the questions that I get the most related to blogging is always what sort of camera equipment that I use. Normally I would argue that it's mostly the photographer that makes the photos and not the camera, but you guys are in luck because I'm actually not that great of a photographer, lol! So the camera equipment is really working overtime for me. I've gone through a few cameras since first starting the blog in 2013, but am now at a place where I'm very happy with all of my equipment. Without further ado, here's everything that I'm currently using to take my blog photos.

Main Camera: Nikon D610You guys may remember this year when I competed in the Marilyn Denis Show's Battle of the Bloggers. The experience was incredible, and I left with a $500 gift card to Henry's Camera! With the help of my gift card, I was able to purchase the Nikon D610 full-frame camera. This camera is absolutely incredible and I have been so happy with my photos since getting it. In terms of a full-frame camera, the Nikon D610 is a great entry-level option because of its price and how compact the body is. The only downfall is that the camera doesn't have a wifi option, which would have been amazing for sending photos to my phone to post on-the-go. Despite this one missing feature, I've been incredibly pleased with my camera, and can totally tell a difference in the quality of my photos.
Lens: Sigma 35mm, F1.4
Everyone who has a passion for photography will tell you that your lens is really the start of the show when it comes to the quality of your photos; I honestly never really understood this until I picked up the Sigma 35mm F1.4 lens. Holy poop. The moment I snapped on this lens, I noticed a huge difference in my photos; particularly in the sharpness, and the depth. The 35mm focal point gives me enough space to truly capture the surroundings in a photo, and that F1.4 gives you that beautiful blurry background. This is my first time trying a third-party lens, but now I'm sold - especially since the Nikon equivalent is over double the price! My one complaint with the Sigma 35mm F1.4 lens is that it's heavy; I'm talking has-doubled-the-weight-of-my-camera heavy. Despite what a beast this lens is, I haven't taken it off since I first got it. Love.
Old Lens: Nikon 50mm, F1.8
Before purchasing the Sigma lens, I was shooting full-time on my Nikon 50mm F1.8. This lens has served me well, and it comes in at a way more affordable price point.
Phone: iPhone 7 Plus
Nowadays it's a very rare occasion that I post any of the photos that I take on my phone, but it definitely sometimes happens. I've been happy with the camera quality of the iPhone 7plus, but not happy enough to encourage anyone to go run out and pick up this $1000+ phone. In my honest opinion, getting this phone for the camera alone is not worth it.
That's everything that I'm currently using to take my blog photos! Let me know what you think, and what you use to take your photos too.
