Wow - it is hot outside. Not that I'm complaining about the heat but the humidity, and all of the delightful beauty issues that come along with it, has become a little much. Enter the simple slip dress - just a simple, light dress that just lightly floats around your body, only to be cinched at the waist with a thin belt. Add some strappy sandals, a cute clutch (because who wants a purse around their shoulder in this heat) and a humidity friendly high pony tail and you're ready to brave the heat. Read on for additional photos and full outfit details.

Long live the high pony tail! This hairstyle is so out of character for me, but with the heat (and my own laziness) I was left with no other options - and I kind of like it! I think you may be seeing this retro style popping up a lot more in the blog.
What are your hot weather outfits? How do you tame your hair in the humidity? Let me know!
Stay cool,

Loving the high ponytail on you! You should definitely wear your hair like that more often. That used to be my go to hairstyle for the humidity as well until I cut my hair short at the end of last summer. Now I typically go for messy curls with a ton of anti-frizz cream (to avoid the poodle-do). Luckily it's short enough in the back that it's off my neck.
ReplyDeleteYes, shorter hair in this weather would be fantastic! I keep on having ideas of chopping all of my hair off à la Kylie Jenner. How did you find going from long to short hair?
DeleteYou look so fab! That colour really suits you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think that I'm going to try and wear more colour from now on :)
DeleteI just stumbled across your site.. and spent the last HOUR going through your posts! Love them all. I'm from Cornwall (near Ottawa) and live in Toronto now as well. Thanks for adding another awesome site to my weekly reads.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome Christine, I'm so glad that you like it! What brought you to Toronto? I always feel an instant connection with anyone from Ottawa and surrounding areas when I meet them in the city!
