Garnier Skin Active Retreat

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure to join Garnier on a blissful weekend retreat at the gorgeous Langdon Hall and learn all about skincare, haircare and sun protection. From the very first moment of being picked up in a limo in good company with talented Canadian bloggers, to the very last bite of a delicious breakfast, the retreat was absolutely magical and I learned a great deal about my own skin and how to address my issues.

I'll just touch briefly on Langdon Hall itself.  The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, the staff wonderful and the food amazing.  This was one of the first time that I had a hotel room all to myself, and I have to say - I quite enjoyed it! The room was the perfect touch of traditional and modern, and the bed so comfortable that I couldn't help sneaking in a nap wherever I could!

Langdon Hall takes great pride in their service and attention to detail, which was evident in my stay.  There was always a smile and a friendly "hello" from staff members throughout the property, and they are always happy to answer questions - especially about their lush gardens that you can see chef's picking out fresh ingredients from!

We also enjoyed a relaxing early-morning yoga session right on the grounds, and it was a great way to start off the day.  I can't wait for my next visit to Langdon Hall, this time with a bathing suit so I can take advantage of their beautiful pool.

We were immersed with Garnier skincare, haircare and sun protection, but one of the absolute star products for me has been the Garnier BB Cream + Blur.  I'm a full-coverage foundation girl through and through, thanks to some pretty horrible acne scarring and hyper pigmentation.  I honestly would have never thought that a BB cream would be able to offer me the coverage that I need, but I stand corrected.  What I love most about the Garnier BB Cream + Blur is how light it is - I use a makeup brush to apply the product all over my face, and then touch up my problem areas (cheeks) with the same brush; it honestly feels like a second layer of skin!  I've been tracking my before and afters on Snapchat, so be sure to follow me to see (username: lapetitenoob.)

Another 'ah-ha' moment came to me when being introduced to the Garnier Clearly Brighter skincare line.  You guys know what I have suffered from acne for years, and while it has calmed down substantially it never occurred to me that I may need to target a new skin concern: dull, lifeless skin thanks to ageing (a perk of being in your 30s!)  I've been using the Clearly Brighter Cleanser, Dark Spot Corrector and the Overnight treatment and I can honestly say that my face is noticeably brighter - and it hasn't irritated my extremely sensitive skin, which is a huge bonus.

That;s it for me! Check out the hashtag #SkinActiveRetreat on Instagram to see more about Langdon Hall and Garnier Products.  In the meantime, if you need me I'll be harassing Brian to bring me back to Langdon Hall!

Thank you Garnier Canada for the wonderful retreat. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
